Our mission is to provide the highest quality information to fantasy sports players. This means that we will only create content and screenings for sports where we believe we have a real advantage.
Initially, we launched an NFL product led by Adam Levitan and Evan Silva. Then we added Drew Dinkmeyer, Mike Gallagher and an NBA team to create an NBA product. In 2022 we partnered with Rufus Peabody to launch a Golf product.

WHO IS RUFUS PEABODY?
Rufus is one of the best golf bettors in the world, having bet professionally on golf and other sports for over a decade. He is the co-creator of the Massey-Peabody rating system, which has been published in the Wall Street Journal for years. He is also co-founder of Unabated Sports and co-host of the Bet The Process podcast.
IF RUFUS IS SO GOOD FOR BETTING, WHY IS IT PROVIDING SHOTS HERE?
It’s a legitimate question. The fantasy and betting markets are littered with misrepresentations in situations like this.
On a high level, and in no particular order, here are the main reasons why Rufus decided to partner with ETR:
Unique aspects of golf betting against DFS. There are significant differences between the skills and information required to successfully bet on golf versus DFS. Of course, having good player projections is one of the most important aspects of success for both. However, in DFS, game theory, roster building considerations, contest selection, among other skills are also required. Rufus believes this partnership strikes the right balance between delivering high-quality information that is an important part of subscriber success, but not just spoon-feeding “test answers.”
Potentially limited impact on the betting markets and its earnings. This product was created for use by fantasy sports players, and player projections are released to ETR subscribers on Wednesday noon each week. At this time, Rufus and other market participants had a chance to make many of their bets for the week. Of course, even at this point in the week, Rufus providing his projections to the betting market will have some impact on his short and long term edge, but not to the same degree if this information were released at the start of the week. All in all, this is a clear disadvantage, the extent of which is currently unknown. Additionally, the nuances of DFS scoring mean that there is no 1 to 1 relationship between expected fantasy points and expected score, which he says will somewhat lessen the impact of information on the fantasy golf betting markets.
Looking for new challenges. Rufus has been betting professionally for over a decade. Anyone who has played professionally for a long time will understand that it can be an isolating activity. While remaining fulfilling in many ways, Rufus is looking for new challenges, especially if he has the chance to work with talented people who offer a unique perspective. In fact, this mindset isn’t new to Rufus. He previously used this desire for new challenges as part of the motivation to create and publish the Massey-Peobody (NFL) scoring system and was one of the first professional sports bettors to create a podcast (Bet The Process).
The risk is worth the potential reward. Rufus is a professional gambler and understands that almost everything in life is about risk versus potential reward. He has spent years building a golf throwing system and with a relatively small investment of time he believes it can be used in new ways to his advantage. To provide more context, interest in fantasy sports and golf betting has grown significantly over the past few years, and Rufus believes there is significant potential for options and revenue by building a product and reputation in this industry. All in all, there is still a clear downside to his potential betting gain, and in the event that this product has a significant impact on his betting, he will simply end the partnership.
WON’T THIS ERODE RUFUS’S BETTING ADVANTAGE?
As stated above, it most likely will. The degree of which is unknown. However, DFS projections will differ from rating projections. The nature of golf and the outsized importance of course adjustment also means that a golfer’s projections from week to week can change significantly.
DOES THIS PRODUCT COME WITH BETTING TIPS?
Not really. However, there are serious fantasy sports players and bettors who subscribe and participate in our private Discord. Rufus, Adam and other members of the ETR team are actively involved. Subscribers have told us that it’s added value for them, but you shouldn’t expect profitable betting tips from this product.
WHAT’S IN THE PRODUCT?
You can find our 2023 content calendar here.
DO YOU GUARANTEE I WILL WIN at DFS, Fantasy Golf or Betting?
As with all our products, no. We guarantee it will be hard to win, as it is in all of these markets. This product is for people who are looking for quality information and are willing to work hard to use it.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Our golf product costs $74.99 per month or $39.99 per week. This covers the main slate for each week as well as all Showdown slates for that event.
WHY IS THE PRODUCT SO EXPENSIVE?
We prefer to keep a relatively small community and serve the needs of customers willing to pay a high price for quality rather than the other way around.
HOW MUCH SLATE DOES THIS PRODUCT COVER?
All except team events. This primarily means every event on the PGA Tour. If there is no PGA event and DraftKings/Fanduel are offering contests on another tour, we will cover that. It means European Tour, LIV or whatever.
WHEN IS THIS PRODUCT LAUNCHED?
This is a continuously operating product.
